Individual Proposal Form

Aims: I intend to produce a series of works based on capturing an essence and ambience of everyday people, focusing on the ideas of escapism and the way individuals mentally break away from their reality. By experimenting with different processes, I have created both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works, which aim to create connections; evoke feelings and memories.

Art works: one painting, one sculpture with three development drawings.

Additional details: I will include a painting incorporating figures into a landscape along, one bronze sculpture titled ‘Marching to Mars’, with three developmental drawings.

Creating Operam VI

Creating Operam VI

Operam VI is a collaberation of 6 artist's studying Creative Art Practice at Sheffield Hallam University. The exhibition is a result of an ongoing project to create and curate and exhibition in groups. The task is broken down into 9 weeks.

We had to begin my selecting members for our groups, which resulted in; Luke Braddock, Fred Spencer, Emma Padley, Amy Slack, Beth Lund and Rachael Mason. We then began thinking about the places which we would like to exhibit our work. we enquired at several galleries in Sheffield, including; Site Gallery, Millennium Gallery and Bank Street Arts. After our research of current gallery spaces Sheffield had to offer, we decided upon the gallery, Bank Street Arts.

We booked the event from Tuesday 20th March to the Saturday 24th March. The exhibition will begin with a private screening of our work, open from 6-8.

The exhibition looks at the juxtaposing ideas surrounding beauty, from 6 diverse ranges of practise. each artist will challenge the concept of beauty, using there own personal practise in order to engage with the audience. The exhibition will result in a wide array of mediums, including; painting, sculpture, drawings.
